MPAU Update – October

October 29, 2012

Greetings Fellow MPAU Members:

This month, we have six projects shooting in Salt Lake and surrounding areas.  In addition to these we have two substantial projects in active pre-production, and an additional four projects pending approval for our film incentive.  Please check the Utah Film Commission website for more information.

We are announcing the departure of MPAU co-founder Kyle Mallory.  Kyle has been instrumental in the growth of the MPAU and its programs and we’re sorry to see him leave.  Thankfully, he won’t be too far from the industry he has so diligently supported and loved.

I would now like to thank YOU.  We are greatly looking forward to our first, of hopefully many, MPAU Membership Appreciation Events.  On November 11th, from 12 noon until 3:00pm we will be hosting “MOVIE SUNDAY” at Brewvies.  This event will sell out and is available on a first come, first serve basis.  Please RSVP to your Evite soon to avoid disappointment.  It will be a fun afternoon of camaraderie and relaxation.  Please contact us at info@mpau.org if you did not receive your Evite.

The industry continues to appreciate our members who have recently renewed their yearly memberships.  If you are not sure if your membership has expired, please contact Clay Maw at membership@mpau.org at your earliest convenience.  We are currently working on improving our data system so that it will automatically send you a notice when your membership has expired, but for the time being, we are hoping our membership will continue to remain diligent in keeping their memberships up to date.  Remember to spread the word to a non-member.

I look forward to seeing you on November 11.

Sincerely,
Jeff Miller
President
The Motion Picture Association of Utah
